Welcome to Central Print
Our Mission:
We are a non-profit arts organization with a mission to promote the art of letterpress printmaking, and related arts, by providing workshops, classes, and programs focusing on design and production using historic printing equipment.
Summer Camp at Central Print-A Passport to Print
Central Print welcomed elementary-aged students for a week of printmaking exploration this July. Students took a tour through traditional processes from type setting, letterpress printing and drypoint to the more contemporary methods of lego printing and gelli-plate printing on T-Shirts. There was plenty of time for students to explore their favorite methods. We will be sure to offer new sessions in 2025.

Thanks to your support we’ve shared the power of printmaking with thousands of guests since we opened ten years ago.
We need your help to continue our efforts
throughout the year.
Printmaking encourages social interaction, promotes self-expression, and empowers participants.
We work with neighborhood youth who visit our studio, building confidence and literacy while they work on their independent projects.
We provide workshops for aspiring printers and the community, and work with national artists and organizations, further establishing Central Print as a hub for artistic expression.
Help us continue to share the power of printmaking with students in the printmaking community and the St. Louis region.
Fourth Fridays Print Lounge every month, in-person, masks optional.

Central Print: The Art of Letterpress
HEC TV featured Central Print in a recent Connect STL feature that aired on KPLR Channel 11. Available on YouTube, check out the program to learn more about our historic old North St. Louis community studio that is a combination art studio and museum. In letterpress printing, type is set by hand, a tactile technique that is an antidote to the digital age. Central Print provides to artists studio space and access to old school printing presses. Classes and workshops for students and young people keep the art of movable type alive.
