Summer Print Studio

Join us every Saturday, June 6th – October 7th, from 10:00am – 12:30pm for a free printmaking activity inspired by the North City Farmers’ Market

Teaching programs will be announced later, but here is the description of teaching programs we've had last year.

Keeping in theme with the fresh produce sold at the North City Farmers’ Market, this week’s activity on July 2 is printing your own recipe cards with Victoria Sapienza. These cards are handset with lead type straight from Central Print’s own Type Collection. There are 2 recipes that will be featured in this activity, an entree and dessert combo, inspired by the produce available at the market in July. The recipes include Bell Pepper Pizzas and Baked Peaches ‘n Cream.

Victoria has her degree from Webster University and has worked as intern at The Firecracker Press. In addition to working as a designer she is an experienced typesetter, printmaker, and bookbinder.

During Summer Print Studio each teaching artist will present a unique activity that is based in printmaking – and will take the techniques even further. Learn about letterpress, stamping, monoprinting, paper making, bookbinding, gardening and more!  Come back each week for new printmaking activity. And be sure to visit the market at the 13th Street Community Garden from 10:00am – 12:00pm to see where the produce is grown, and purchase a fresh harvest to take home.

Summer Print Studio is generously supported by The Whitaker Foundation and The Missouri Arts Council
