Illuminated Posters
Linoleum, Letterpress & Gold Leaf
This class has all the elements you like: relief, letterpress & GOLD LEAF. This mixed-media approach offers new ways to think about your standard poster print. You will be exploring the combinations of text, personal imagery and layout/composition as we look to illuminated manuscripts from ancient cultures for inspiration. Students will learn how to set type, carve a linoleum block and apply gold leaf by hand. Instruction in ink mixing and paper selection will be included. At the end of this course you will have created a beautiful one-of-a-kind edition with an extra for a portfolio exchange.

Kenya Mitchell is a St. Louis native and Webster University graduate whose work is deeply rooted in personal experience, faith, identity, and the cultural richness of her community. Through printmaking, painting, textiles, and digital media, she explores life's complexities, challenging viewers to look beyond surface-level answers while embracing everyday moments.

Cancellation Policy: Central Print reserves the right to cancel workshops and classes to adjust for enrollment. If a workshop or class is cancelled by Central Print, you will receive a full refund.
Refund Policy: Notice of withdrawal from a workshop must be made at least 7 days prior to the start of the class. No refunds will be given for withdrawals made after that time. No refunds or credits will be given for classes missed due to illness, personal conflict, or other reasons. Please email carrie@centralprint.org to withdraw from a workshop.
